Eighth-graders first project was to create paper sculptures using white paper with a black background. They researched and sketched designs found in nature and then created a paper sculpture that represented nature. We looked at artists who use paper as a medium, and contemporary artist Tara Donovan who uses everyday consumable objects to create her sculptures. The sculptures were created on 24x36 black railroad board.
